Koryo Restaurant @ Fusionopolis (Connexis Tower)

22 JUN 2009

After watching this Korean series about food yesterday, we got this crazy craving for some KimChi… and decided on the Korean restaurant in Fusionopolis…

Koryo Restaurant is really gigantic… However it rather sad to see only 2 tables occupied. Perhaps they need more marketing and hopefully its not the sign of crappy Korean Food… We ordered a small Soon Dubu Chjge (Seafood Beancurd Soup; $8.50) to share. For wifey, she wanted their Dalk Go Gi Bok Eom (Fried Chicken; $8.50), I clarified with the waiter if it is spicy stir-fried chicken and got my confirmation. For me, I ordered the Dol Sot Bibim Bap (Hot Stone Bowl Rice – Pork; $11.50).

The complimentary KimChi and appetizers arrived… Alas, only 4 complimentary sides were served… Other Korean restaurants we went to usually bring 6 to 8 sides. The KimChi here was rather disappointing too… and the rest of the appetizers were only slightly nicer, but not by much!

The Seafood Beancurd Soup was filled with large chunk of Tofu. The soup was very tasty… Wifey really enjoyed it, and with my help, we drained the whole bowl dry!!

Well, the Dalk Go Gi Bok Eom was indeed Spicy Stir-Fried Chicken instead of whats on the menu – Fried Chicken… Hmm… the preparation and presentation of this stir-fried chicken could have been better as I felt too much of the Korean red cooking paste were used… Wifey cooked this dish a few years back when we were still in Australia… and I think she did a better job!

The Bibim Bap here was nothing spectacular compared to what I tasted before. Kind of disappointing for $11.50…

We were also served some sweet drink that were very much like saturated sucrose… :shivers:

All up, the dinner cost $37.10, which includes 2 hot tea for $1.50 each… I don’t think we will be back for any of these mediocre Korean food…

My Final Rating: 5.75/10
