Teahouse, the Asian Kitchen @ Raffles City Shopping Centre

17 MAY 2009

Had a simple lunch at Teahouse, The Asian Kitchen… The size of this joint is rather small, and the place was pretty packed… with many staffs buzzing around… Thankfully, we managed to get a seat…

The roasted ducks looked delicious, and we decided to get a small serve to share plus another dish… There were three types of ducks, normal crispy, herbal, and spicy… We had our dose of Herbal ducks at DXE not too long ago and decided to have something regular. For the other dish, we ordered a Spicy Eggplant.

Roast Duck (Small Serve - $10.70)

Wow!! We were both quite delighted by the quality of their duck. Not the best, but pretty darn good for Singapore’s standard… I can say it really tasted as good as it looked… Also, the proportion of the small serve of Crispy Duck we ordered were rather decent! Frankly, I never expected the serve size to be anywhere near as healthy… with a Duck Thigh too… and all for $10.70!! Very pleasantly surprised.

Their Spicy Eggplant ($7.70) was pretty darn good too! If only the spice level is upped a notch… Though, they do have a jar of chilli oil on each table, it just ain’t the same as the spicy bits on the Eggplant…

Their Chinese Tea cost $1.00 a glass (refill-able), and a bowl of Steamed Rice, relatively large bowl filled to the brim, cost $1.00 a pop…

In the end it cost $26.36 for the two of us, but it was a simple but very satisfying meal… We will be back for more!

My Final Rating: 6.75/10
