Island Creamery… Unique flavours!!

Brother brought me down to Island Creamery a little over a month ago, and I must say they have some very unique ice cream flavours.

Upon entering, the place looks cozy… in a way… probably due to the thousands of customer’s photos pasted on the wall.

What caught my attention, painted on a wall by the counter was that their ice cream is “freshly made and contains no preservatives, artifical colouring, artificial flavouring, eggs, gelatine, and NO CHINESE DAIRY PRODUCTS!! hahaha!!

The apple pie with a scoop of ice-cream from afar looks so desirable!

Hmmm... Yummy!!

Hmmm... Yummy!!

The close-up looks even better!! OK I have to be frank. The apple pie was not out of this world spectacular… Well, I love my pastry, and I suppose if they re-heat the apple pie with a mini-oven instead of a microwave, the pastry would have a better feel to it?

What impressed me was the Teh Tarik ice cream!! WOW! Smooth! Creamy! Just like a Teh Tarik smoothie!! Just a perfect scoop of ice cream on a sunny stuffy afternoon :)

Even though the apple pie was so-so, it went down well with the Teh Tarik ice cream, and its al gone in no time!!

All gone in no time!! :)

We also bought a tub of cookie and cream home… and GOSH it’s actually seriously NICE as well!! Really love the big chunks of cookies!! Its definitely one of the ‘Must Try’!!

To me, what really stands out and sets this place apart from the international chain of ice-cream brands such as Swensen and Haagen-Dazs is (1) the unique local flavors, (2) prices – I am sure for a price of an ice-cream creation in Haagen-Dazs, one can probably get their mud pie + apple pie/ice cream scoop combo + another scoop of ice-cream… and (3) short and simple: NO GST!!

Well, I will definitely be returning to try the other flavours (Targeting ‘Chendol’ and ‘Pulut Hitam’ next). Can’t wait for my next visit already :P
